Gandhinagar/Ahmedabad, March 8 (NationPress) During a recent mass wedding ceremony for the Thakor community in Gujarat, a significant message was conveyed urging families to treat their daughters-in-law with the same love and respect afforded to their own daughters. This event was graced by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, who addressed the newly married couples and community attendees.
At the 35th mass wedding organized by the Gujarat Thakor Kshatriya community in Kalol, Sanghavi expressed his best wishes to the newlyweds while advocating for enhanced social harmony within families.
“It is essential that the ‘daughter-in-law’ who enters a household after marriage is treated with the same kindness and regard as one’s own daughter,” he stated, underscoring the need for social reform and education.
Emphasizing the strong historical ties between the Thakor community and the government, Sanghavi pointed out the importance of youth development and leadership within the community.
He referenced the state's development journey, which began during the tenure of former Chief Minister and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi, continuing under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel's guidance.
“The development path initiated earlier is now progressing at 'rocket speed' under CM Bhupendra Patel, a testament to the community's support and blessings,” Sanghavi remarked.
The Deputy Chief Minister also highlighted various government welfare initiatives, including Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
“What once seemed like a dream—direct aid for poor and middle-class families facing serious illnesses—has now turned into a reality,” he stated, encouraging community leaders to ensure that grassroots families do not miss out on these benefits.
Moreover, he praised the construction of an educational facility for the community, facilitated by Gandhinagar South MLA Alpesh Thakor and Kalol MLA Laxmanji Thakor.
Sanghavi led those present in a pledge to work towards the eradication of social evils and to contribute to a healthier society.
Earlier that day, CM Bhupendra Patel inaugurated Tapovan Vidyavihar in Ahmedabad, an educational complex designed to offer modern learning environments alongside value-based education.
During the event, CM Patel recognized the main benefactors of the institution and toured the classrooms with other dignitaries.
Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi attended the ceremony alongside Jain spiritual leaders Hanskirti Surishwarji Maharaj and Bhavyakirti Surishwarji Maharaj.
Sanghavi noted that the institution would provide advanced educational opportunities while instilling values. "Tapovan Vidyavihar embodies the Prime Minister’s motto of 'Vikas Bhi Virasat Bhi.'"
Attendees included Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibha Jain, local MLA Amit Thakar, Jain monks, community leaders, and a throng of residents who came to celebrate the inauguration.
