Ahmedabad, Nov 20 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, presided over the online public grievance redressal initiative 'SWAGAT' in Gandhinagar on Thursday. He urged officials to utilize technology for the swift and effective resolution of public complaints.
The Chief Minister highlighted the need to deeply understand grievances, especially those raised by farmers, ensuring they are verified through site inspections and prioritized for resolution.
Emphasizing accountability, he instructed district collectors to enforce strict implementation and monitoring of decisions made during the taluka- and district-level SWAGAT meetings.
This month, over 70 citizens participated in the State SWAGAT program, with the Chief Minister personally addressing four individual cases.
The remaining petitions were processed by the public relations unit of the Chief Minister's Office and forwarded to relevant departments and district officials.
A total of 1,156 complaints submitted during the district-level SWAGAT meetings in November have already received necessary actions at the district level.
He reiterated that the SWAGAT system, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2003 during his tenure as Gujarat's Chief Minister, remains a significant platform connecting citizens directly with the government and facilitating real improvements in their lives.
During the session, Chief Minister Patel provided several immediate instructions.
Responding to a longstanding demand from farmers in two villages of Porbandar district, he directed the state's Roads and Buildings Department to accelerate the approval for a bridge over the Sukhabhadar river.
In another instance, CM Patel instructed the district collector to promptly issue a property card with updated measurements for a petitioner from Porbandar.
He also directed the Ahmedabad district collector, Sujeet Kumar, to quickly rectify revenue records for a farmer from Dholera, who faced issues due to Special Intensive Revision (SIR) reservation discrepancies.
Considering the recent unseasonal rains, the Chief Minister urged district collectors to ensure that no farmer encounters obstacles in accessing aid under the agricultural relief package announced by the state government.
The November 2025 SWAGAT review featured the presence of Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Avantika Singh, Secretary Vikrant Pandey, officers on special duty, Dhiraj Parekh and Rakesh Vyas, along with senior officials from relevant departments.
