Gandhinagar, Sep 11 (NationPress) As the Gujarat government, led by Bhupendra Patel, marks its four-year milestone, its commitment to enhancing healthcare services has emerged as a key highlight. Through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), the government is providing financial aid to individuals unable to afford costly treatments during critical and life-threatening health issues.
Over the past four years, a total assistance of Rs 84.29 crore has been sanctioned for 3,761 citizens, showcasing the state’s dedication to the health and welfare of its people. The following instances illustrate this support.
Rs 3.58 lakh assistance granted to an MBBS student for a cochlear implant
Hetvi Shah, a 21-year-old MBBS student from Vadodara, needed assistance for a cochlear implant. Her hearing impairment could have significantly impacted her education and future career without timely intervention. The estimated cost for the implant at the Apex Speech and Hearing Clinic in Vadodara was Rs 5.97 lakh, an amount that was a significant financial burden for her family.
Recognizing her critical situation, CM Patel approved special financial assistance of Rs 3.58 lakh.
Her father, Sandip Shah, explained: “We learned about CMRF from relatives and through a newspaper article about the aid available for cochlear implants. We approached the officials, submitted the required documentation, and after verification, our request for Rs 3.58 lakh was approved. We received the funds within two months, relieving our financial stress and enabling my daughter to get the device. This scheme is truly unique, as no other initiative provides such support. More people should be informed about it.”
71-year-old Hajabhai Khunti receives support for cancer treatment
Hajabhai Jetabhai Khunti, a 71-year-old from Ahmedabad, was diagnosed with cancer. The estimated cost for his treatment at HCG Aastha Cancer Care Hospital was Rs 8.50 lakh, a substantial amount for a middle-class family.
Given his financial circumstances and the gravity of his illness, the Chief Minister sanctioned special financial aid of Rs 2.83 lakh for his treatment. Hajabhai stated, “We were granted essential financial support from the state government at a crucial time. My surgery was successful, and my health has significantly improved. I must continue regular hospital visits for follow-ups, but the assistance from CMRF has brought us peace of mind. I am sincerely thankful to the Chief Minister and the government for their help.”
The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) has become an essential resource for both financial and emotional support for those in distress.
In urgent cases, where life-threatening conditions make treatment unaffordable for middle-class families and their PMJAY funding has been exhausted, the CMRF steps in to provide crucial assistance. In these tough times, the Gujarat government remains steadfast in its support for its citizens, ensuring necessary financial help through CMRF.
