Gandhinagar, April 23 (NationPress) Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi has pledged to provide a decisive response to the terrorists behind the tragic incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 16 individuals, including three from Gujarat.

He condemned the assault as an act of cowardice and assured justice for the victims.

Minister Sanghavi stated, “We will deliver a strong response to the terrorists, and each one of them will be located and held accountable,” emphasizing the commitment to justice.

Among those who lost their lives were Sumit and Yatish Parmar from Bhavnagar, along with Shailesh Kalathiya from Surat.

The attack, aimed at unsuspecting tourists, also left over 20 individuals injured.

The Gujarat government has initiated arrangements to repatriate the deceased bodies back to the state.

Gautam M. Parmar, the DIG from Bhavnagar, mentioned that Vinubhai Dabhi from Bhavnagar was also injured in the Pahalgam attack and is currently receiving treatment in Anantnag, with his condition steadily improving.

“According to the reports, 20 individuals from Bhavnagar were at Pahalgam. Once the names of those present are confirmed, we will provide additional information. We are coordinating with the Jammu and Kashmir police for more details,” stated the DIG.

The attack was claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy for the Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

TRF poses as a homegrown resistance movement, but Indian intelligence agencies have consistently revealed it as a front orchestrated by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to conduct attacks while maintaining plausible deniability on the global stage.

In their statement, TRF expressed outrage over the settlement of over 85,000 non-local Indians in Jammu and Kashmir, alleging it to be part of a so-called “demographic invasion.”

They framed the attack as a reaction to India's policies post-2019, following the abrogation of Article 370.

A large-scale counter-terror operation is currently in progress in the forested hills surrounding Baisaran, led by the Army, CRPF, and J&K Police.
