Vaishali, July 27 (NationPress) The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) has significantly transformed the lives of many individuals by helping them achieve their dream of owning a pucca house. In the Vaishali district of Bihar, daily laborer Mintu Sahni experienced a renewed sense of hope as he became a beneficiary of the PMAY scheme, enabling him to acquire a pucca house.
This change has brought immense joy to him and his family, as their long-held dream has finally become a reality.
Mintu Sahni, who works as a daily wage laborer, struggled to provide for his family due to their difficult financial situation. Owning a home seemed unattainable until the PMAY scheme made it feasible.
Speaking to IANS, Mintu shared that their financial struggles made the idea of building a pucca house seem impossible.
“We lived day by day, and our children endured a hut-like dwelling. The rainy season brought numerous challenges with a leaking roof. However, with the support from Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, we have been given a new lease on life,” he expressed.
With excitement, he added: “Thanks to the financial aid from the scheme, we are now constructing a permanent home. We no longer fear the rain or worry about our children's safety. This new house will provide a better environment for their education and well-being. This initiative is truly a blessing for us.”
Initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the PMAY has not only provided shelter to the underprivileged families in Vaishali but has also enhanced their social and economic conditions.
Mintu Sahni’s story is just one among many. He joins hundreds of families in the Vaishali district who now have the chance to lead a dignified and respectable life.
The positive effects of this initiative are evident in the Jandaha block of Vaishali district. Local authorities report that thousands of families have benefited from the scheme, and construction for many more homes is in progress.
