Vaishali (Bihar), Aug 3 (NationPress) The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015, has turned the dream of owning pucca houses (solid concrete homes) into reality for millions of underprivileged families nationwide.
This scheme is designed to assist individuals from lower socioeconomic backgrounds by providing them with a pucca house.
In the Vaishali district of Bihar, the profound effects of this initiative are evident, as thousands of beneficiaries have transitioned from temporary shelters to sturdy homes.
Numerous beneficiaries shared their stories with IANS, expressing heartfelt gratitude towards Prime Minister Modi for the scheme and detailing how their lives have transformed since enrolling in PMAY.
Bindeshwar Sahni remarked that his family's quality of life has significantly improved due to their new permanent residence.
“Previously, during the monsoon season, we experienced leaks from the roof, but that issue is resolved now,” he shared.
He added that he never imagined he would own a house until the government’s financial support made it possible.
“I learned about this scheme one day, applied, and received assistance. We are grateful to PM Modi for enabling us to construct a lasting home, allowing us to live happily as a family,” he expressed.
“We hope the Prime Minister continues his commendable work for the nation’s underprivileged,” he added.
Others have also benefited from this vital scheme.
Suresh Sahni noted that he received a permanent house through PMAY six years ago.
“In the absence of a stable home, we faced issues like water leaks, precarious living conditions, and challenges for our children daily. Thankfully, those days are gone. We appreciate PM Modi for spearheading such welfare initiatives for needy families,” he stated.
