Gujarat ITI Students to Receive Electric Vehicle Training as CM Patel Unveils 40 EVs

Gandhinagar, March 12 (NationPress) More than 8,000 students enrolled in the Motor Mechanic program at Gujarat’s Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) are set to enhance their practical skills in electric vehicles thanks to the distribution of 40 electric cars by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
This event occurred in Gandhinagar on Thursday, attended by Labour and Skill Development Minister Kunvarji Bavaliya.
The goal of this initiative is to introduce students to cutting-edge electric vehicle technology, equipping them for the growing job market in this field.
Under the Chief Minister's direction, the Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department has initiated steps to modernize government ITIs with advanced technology pertinent to the rising electric vehicle sector, encompassing battery technology, electric powertrains, and embedded software.
Minister Bavaliya remarked, “Offering hands-on training in electric vehicle technology will provide students with practical experience, boosting their skills and job prospects in a sector that is rapidly evolving.”
The state government has allocated these electric vehicles to ITIs in accordance with syllabus needs, ensuring that students gain exposure to advanced technology while acquiring industry-relevant skills.
These cars will facilitate practical training, allowing students to cultivate self-sufficiency and expertise in operating electric vehicles.
Alongside the electric cars, Chief Minister Patel also inaugurated 50 Dhanvantari Health Vans and six Mobile Medical Vans designed to deliver basic healthcare services to construction workers and organized sector laborers at their residences.
The vans are equipped to handle common ailments such as fever, cold, vomiting, and skin conditions, and they provide laboratory testing for urine, blood, sugar, and malaria.
They also offer complimentary medications and primary care for children and pregnant women.
Through the Gujarat Housing and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, a total of 154 Dhanvantari Health Vans are operational across all districts, while the Gujarat Labour Welfare Board manages 25 Mobile Medical Vans.
With these new additions, the total number of operational Dhanvantari Health Vans rises to 206 and 31 Mobile Medical Vans across 34 districts, significantly improving access to healthcare for workers and their families.
