New Delhi, June 28 (NationPress) The Delhi Education Minister, Ashish Sood, embarked on a visit to schools in Surat on Saturday, announcing plans to introduce a cutting-edge educational framework that integrates AI, smart boards, and robotics, inspired by the successful model from Gujarat, into the schools of the capital.

In statements made to the media in Gujarat, Sood expressed his optimism that this initiative would significantly elevate the educational standards in Delhi's government schools while simultaneously providing students with greater exposure to contemporary technologies.

Sood took a critical stance against the previously touted Delhi education model presented by the former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration.

He emphasized that the self-proclaimed Delhi model, associated with the AAP government's Education Minister, who is currently incarcerated due to the liquor scam, has utterly failed.

Despite being the national capital with abundant resources, government schools in Delhi possess only a few hundred smart boards. In stark contrast, Gujarat, which deals with annual natural adversities such as floods in various districts, has successfully established over 100,000 smart classrooms, thereby highlighting the shortcomings of the so-called Delhi model.

During his educational tour in Surat, Sood visited Suman High School Number 6, managed by the Surat Municipal Corporation.

He examined several classrooms in the school and observed the teaching and learning processes facilitated by smart boards.

Sood engaged with students to gauge the impact of smart boards and the educational advantages they derive from this technology.

Furthermore, Sood explored the school's AI and Robotics Lab, where he witnessed student-led projects focusing on drones, 3D printers, and advanced sensor security systems.

While interacting with the students, he commended their hard work and extended his best wishes.

Sood's visit was aimed at assessing the execution of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the exemplary educational practices adopted by various states.

He noted that the reforms implemented in Gujarat government schools are praiseworthy and should serve as a model for other states.

Present at the event were the District Education Officer of Surat, administrative officials from the Municipal Primary Education Committee, the District Primary Education Officer, school administrators, and other officials.

Point of View

The strategic shift towards integrating advanced technology in education, as proposed by Delhi's Education Minister, reflects a significant move towards modernization. Learning from Gujarat's successful educational reforms could serve to inspire and improve educational outcomes across the country, ensuring that all students have access to quality education that meets the demands of the future.
