Gujarat's International Kite Festival 2025 Begins, Delight for Global Visitors

Ahmedabad, Jan 11 (NationPress) The International Kite Festival 2025 officially commenced in the city on Saturday, with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launching a tricolour balloon into the air.
During the festival's inauguration, the Chief Minister highlighted Gujarat's global reputation in kite manufacturing and reminisced about how the kite festival, which began during Narendra Modi's time as Chief Minister, established itself as an international event.
This vibrant three-day event is being hosted at Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad from January 11 to January 14, attracting ambassadors from 11 different nations to witness this colorful kite-flying spectacle.
With over 143 participants from 47 countries, the celebration will also extend to other regions of the state, including Statue of Unity (Ekta Nagar), Rajkot, and Vadodara on January 12, followed by Surat, Shivrajpur, and Dhordo on January 13.
In his speech, the Chief Minister pointed out that cities like Ahmedabad, Nadiad, Khambhat, and Surat have become significant centers for kite production, significantly contributing to India's kite export business, particularly to countries like the US, UK, and Canada.
This annual event attracts visitors from all over the nation and beyond, who flock to the city for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience kite flying.
A foreign visitor, who came to join the Kite Festival, expressed, "I enjoy kites and create my own designs. I've flown them five times from rooftops, and it's incredibly enjoyable!"
He further remarked, "He has done many good things for the country. I believe he is among the best prime ministers in the world," referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A female foreign tourist added, "Do I appreciate Gujarat? Absolutely! I also spent time in Goa, which was beautiful. I truly love the food here, though it can be a bit spicy at times, but I find it delicious!"
