Haryana CM Highlights the Role of ‘Double-Engine Government’ in Comprehensive Development

Chandigarh, Dec 1 (NationPress) The Haryana government, under the guidance of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, marked the occasion of Maharaja Shoor Saini Jayanti on Sunday in Kaithal district.

This event is part of the state government's initiative to celebrate the anniversaries of saints through the Sant-Mahapurush Vichar Samman and Prasar Yojana.

The scheme's objective is to spread the teachings and messages of revered saints and notable figures.

While paying homage to Maharaja Shoor Saini, the Chief Minister stated that the “double-engine government” has been steadfastly working towards the progress of all segments of society, with a vision of transforming Haryana into a ‘Shikshit, Swasth, Surakshit aur Swavalambi’ (educated, healthy, safe, and self-reliant) state, following the principles set by this great leader.

“In alignment with the ideals exemplified by these illustrious personalities and saints, the government is consistently taking measures for the welfare and upliftment of every community, embodying the spirit of Haryana Ek-Haryanvi Ek,” Saini remarked.

The Chief Minister emphasized that Maharaja Shoor Saini was a courageous and righteous monarch. “Every individual in his realm was granted equal rights. The area surrounding Mathura was designated as Shoor Saini Pradesh in his honor. The legacy of the Saini community is both ancient and illustrious,” he remarked.

He also announced that the government is committed to providing scholarships for students from Haryana belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Scheduled Castes (SC) who are pursuing medical and engineering education in any government institution.

“To fulfill this promise, a portal will be initiated in the academic session 2025-26 to offer full scholarships to all SC and OBC students. Through this portal, eligible students can register if they are enrolled in any government medical or engineering college across the country,” explained Saini.

Additionally, the Chief Minister noted that the government has allocated 27 percent reservation for backward classes in educational institutions and job placements.

Moreover, families earning an annual income of up to Rs 3 lakh can avail loans up to Rs 15 lakh for education in India, and Rs 20 lakhs for studies abroad, at a nominal annual interest rate of 4 percent.

The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s ambition to empower 5 lakh women to become Lakhpati Didis (women earning over Rs 1 lakh annually).

1.5 lakh women have attained this status. Under the Drone Didi Scheme, 5,000 women from 500 self-help groups will receive complimentary drone pilot training. So far, 100 women have been trained, and drones have been provided to them at no cost. In addition, 15 lakh Happy Cards have been distributed to underprivileged families, with an additional 5 lakh to be issued by December 15.”

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi stated that the Saini community has made significant contributions to agriculture, education, and healthcare, playing a vital role in the continuous advancement of Haryana.

Bedi added that Haryana has once again established an honest government, for the third time, with the support of the populace, where young individuals are acquiring government jobs without any corruption or favoritism.
