Chandigarh, Jan 2 (NationPress) Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced the direct transfer of Rs 217.36 crore into the bank accounts of 5,794 beneficiaries as part of the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Antyodyay Parivar Suraksha Yojana-I (DAYALU). This initiative brings the total disbursed amount to Rs 1,881.355 crore for 49,998 beneficiaries under the scheme.

The Chief Minister emphasized that substantial enhancements have been made to the scheme to improve transparency and ensure that benefits are delivered to the rightful beneficiaries.

The integration of the death certificates with the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) facilitates easy verification of death and disability certificates using PPP data.

This integration is intended to bolster transparency and prevent misuse, guaranteeing that only eligible families receive aid. He also unveiled the Jan Sahayak ‘Help Me’ mobile application for the convenience of residents.

The app enables timely financial assistance via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of beneficiaries. Through this app, applicants can also monitor their applications and the status of the scheme. The initiative aims to provide financial stability to citizens during distressing times.

The scheme is targeted at families registered under the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) with an annual income not exceeding Rs 1.80 lakh.

Eligible families must apply for assistance on the portal within 90 days of an accident. Financial aid ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh is available for cases of death or permanent disability resulting from an accident.

Present at the announcement were Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Arun Gupta, CEO of Haryana Parivar Suraksha Nyas Jainder Singh Chhilar, and numerous senior officials.

Point of View

The release of such financial aid by the Haryana government is a strategic step toward addressing the needs of economically vulnerable families.
