Mumbai, July 9 (NationPress) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday emphasized the necessity of transitioning the majority of services from the public health department to an online platform.
“To enhance the health department's infrastructure, meticulous planning is essential to cater health services based on the population in both rural and urban settings. For health initiatives in urban regions, each guardian secretary should devise a structured program and expedite these efforts. Furthermore, the maximum number of services from the public health department should be accessible online via the 'Aaple Sarkar' website,” he stated.
He highlighted the importance of bolstering primary health services in the state, advocating for an increase in the number of primary health centres in urban and rural locations.
“An anticipated expenditure of Rs 5983 crore will be allocated for contracts involving new ambulances, the modernization of 398 primary health centres and 2806 sub-centres, with funds received incrementally. Proper planning of funds from the state government and financial institutions is crucial. The effective implementation of both central and state health schemes is imperative. Strengthening district hospitals, sub-district hospitals, and rural hospitals should be prioritized,” he added.
He instructed the public health department to adopt new guidelines for primary health centres and expeditiously act on establishing a new Infrastructure Development Corporation.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that the procurement of medicines and equipment should be streamlined. The integration of artificial intelligence technology in health services should be expanded. Innovative measures should be introduced to enhance the capabilities of public health officers and employees.
All hospital data under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana should be made accessible online. By providing timely and reliable information, health services can be delivered more efficiently to patients and the health department.
According to the Chief Minister, the health department website must be updated to ensure citizens can easily find information about all health schemes. A comprehensive draft of the state's health policy should be developed.
He directed that the health department prioritize establishing a recruitment board, decentralizing health services, and ensuring high-quality services for patients.
