Shimla, Aug 20 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition in Himachal Pradesh, Jairam Thakur, has publicly accused the state government of misleading the House with false claims regarding job provision.
Thakur stated, "This kind of behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The situation for this government is dire, as the statements made by the Chief Minister cannot be trusted," referring to the BJP's walkout during the Assembly session.
Thakur criticized Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for allegedly providing inaccurate information about job allocations.
Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania described the BJP's protest as unwarranted, stating it would not be recorded.
According to Thakur, "The Chief Minister lies both in the House and in public. He even lied on a significant day like Independence Day."
He pointed out that the Chief Minister had failed to keep his promise of creating one lakh jobs in their first Cabinet meeting and five lakh jobs during the Assembly session.
Thakur further stated that the government had deceived the House on Wednesday.
"The government reported that in 2024, 34,980 jobs were provided. Yet, a year later, the Chief Minister claimed, on Independence Day, that only 23,191 jobs were created. How does the Chief Minister explain this discrepancy of 11,000 jobs? Such levels of deceit are hard to fathom," he remarked.
He emphasized, "The Chief Minister's words carry weight. He must choose them carefully," the BJP leader added.
Thakur also mentioned that Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu dismissed over 15,000 employees immediately upon assuming office.
Moreover, the Chief Minister abolished more than 1.5 lakh posts in one decisive move.
Additionally, Thakur condemned the attack on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, calling it a deeply distressing and disgraceful incident.
He concluded, "Such treatment of public representatives is unacceptable in any civilized society. The strictest actions must be enforced against the perpetrators to send a clear message to society," the BJP leader asserted.
