Dharamsala, Dec 3 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, officiated the opening of the newly established Ban Ganga Ghat in Kangra on Wednesday.
He also initiated the evening aarti, conducted with Vedic chants reminiscent of Haridwar. This daily ritual is anticipated to draw numerous devotees to the location.
The project, which came to fruition at a financial investment of Rs 2.20 crore, garnered substantial assistance from the Captain Shailesh Rialch Foundation, which contributed approximately Rs 1.5 crore. The district administration of Kangra added another Rs 70 lakh to the endeavor.
Captain Shailesh, originally from the Ambari region of Nagrota Bagwan, was martyred 25 years ago, leading to the establishment of the foundation in his honor. The foundation has been instrumental in the development of this ghat.
The Chief Minister mentioned that a 25-foot trident is set to be installed within the ghat complex. To enhance the experience for devotees and visitors, amenities such as a spacious aarti platform, changing facilities, restrooms, an appealing stage, a landscaped park, and improved lighting have been constructed.
In addition to the evening aarti, there will be Yoga classes and various religious and cultural events hosted at the site.
He emphasized that Himachal Pradesh is often referred to as Dev Bhoomi, and the Bajreshwari Temple in Kangra serves as a significant spiritual hub for countless devotees nationwide.
With many worshippers taking holy dips at the ghat, its design prioritizes their convenience, providing a safe and organized venue for bathing and performing rituals.
Present at the event were Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma, MLAs Sanjay Awasthy, Suresh Kumar, and Kamlesh Thakur, along with other dignitaries including Chairman of Himachal Pradesh School Education Board Rajesh Sharma, Vice-Chairman HRTC Ajay Verma, Chairman of HP Wool Federation Manoj Thakur, Chairman APMC Kangra Nishu Mongra, Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa, Superintendent of Police Ashok Rattan, and many more.
