Jammu, Nov 28 (NationPress) In a remarkable display of communal solidarity and a celebration of Kashmiryat, a Hindu family generously donated a small piece of land to a Muslim journalist in Jammu city, J&K, whose residence was demolished by local authorities.

Setting aside religious and political divides, the Hindu family recognized the struggles of their Muslim neighbor and gifted a five Marla plot to the journalist, whose home was destroyed by the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) officials.

The land was presented by Kuldeep Sharma, who transferred the ownership documents to the affected individual through his daughter.

A video capturing this heartfelt moment has gone viral on social media, symbolizing unity amidst the controversial demolition drive.

In statements to the press, Sharma criticized the BJP, asserting that divisive politics cannot tear apart the social fabric of Jammu.

He emphasized that Hindus and Muslims in the region have coexisted as brothers for generations, and no political force can disrupt that reality through hate or fear.

The demolition sparked significant controversy, with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah claiming that it was executed by officials appointed by the Lt Governor, without proper consultation with the relevant minister.

Omar accused the actions of being part of a conspiracy aimed at tarnishing the image of the elected government in J&K.

Former Chief Minister and PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti, likened the demolition to a targeted punishment against Muslims in Jammu.

Mehbooba stated on X, "These are not the homes of vulnerable Muslim families in UP or elsewhere, where minority targeting has become commonplace. This is Jammu & Kashmir, where Arfaz, a journalist, witnessed his modest home, built 40 years ago on 3 marlas, reduced to rubble in moments."

She further noted, "The NC government dismissed the PDP’s anti-bulldozer bill, labeling these residents as land grabbers. Today, the harsh consequences of that decision are evident to all."
