Mathura, March 2 (NationPress) Following the Maha Kumbh in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj, Hindu saints and seers have issued a new directive calling for a prohibition on the entry of Muslims during the renowned 'Brij ki Holi' celebrations in Mathura and Vrindavan.

The saints have expressed concerns about a perceived conspiracy against Sanatan Dharma, asserting that Muslims are not needed in the Holi festivities in the Braj area and should be 'kept away' from Hindu celebrations.

The festival of colours has already commenced in Mathura, where it is celebrated with great pomp, particularly at the famous Radha Rani temple.

The Mathura saints noted that visitors from across India and the globe flock to witness the Holi festivities in Mathura and Vrindavan.

They have also demanded a prohibition on Muslim vendors in these towns, positing that “if Hindus are barred from visiting Mecca and Medina, why should Muslims be allowed at our Holi celebrations?”

Mathura Temple priest Sushil Goswami Nandgaon emphasized that Muslims should not be permitted to participate in Hindu festivals, advocating for similar regulations in Mathura and Vrindavan.

Numerous Hindu leaders in Vrindavan echoed the sentiment that if Hindus refrain from attending Muslim festivals, Muslims should also abstain from Hindu celebrations.

Dinesh Sharma Falari, a petitioner involved in the Mathura's Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shah Idgah Masjid dispute, sent a letter written in his blood to Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, urging a ban on Muslims during Holi in Mathura and Vrindavan.

He claimed that Muslims might “spit” on sweets throughout the festivities. However, Tanveer Ahmed, secretary of the Shahi Idgah Intazamia Committee and legal representative for the Muslim side in the temple-mosque case, responded that Holi celebrations have historically been peaceful.

“Holi in Braj has always been marked by love and peace. There have never been complaints from any community. Even esteemed Krishna devotees like Ras Khan and Taj Bibi, who were Muslims, are honored,” he stated.

Earlier, a Hindutva organization in Vrindavan urged Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to limit Muslim participation in the Holi festivities, asserting they should be excluded from the celebration.

The group, Dharam Raksha Sangh, claimed that Holi represents love and harmony for the Sanatan community, opposing Muslim involvement in selling colours or participating in the festivities.

“Recent incidents in Bareilly showed members of the Muslim community threatening Hindus. We have resolved to bar Muslim entry in Holi celebrations at significant pilgrimage sites like Mathura, Vrindavan, Nandgaon, Barsana, Gokul, and Dauji,” declared Dharam Raksha Sangh’s national president Saurabh Gaur.

“We still perceive a threat from their intentions. They might disrupt the festivities,” Gaur alleged.

Dharam Raksha Sangh’s National Coordinator Acharya Badrish labeled Muslims as “separatists and jihadists.”

“The Uttar Pradesh government must enforce a ban similar to restrictions on Muslim participation in Garba festivities in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh. Since they object to colours and ‘gulal’, they have no place in our Holi celebrations. They should be excluded, and the government must ensure this,” Acharya Badrish stated.
