In the journey toward a better future, the company achieved a milestone in 2016 by completing the 648 MW Kamuthi solar plant in Tamil Nadu, which at that time was recognized as the world’s largest single-site solar power project.
Currently, the Group is undertaking the development of another renewable energy plant in Khavda, located in western Gujarat. This facility is over 5 times larger than Paris and, upon completion, will generate 30 GW of clean energy, establishing it as the world’s largest man-made power source—outpacing thermal, nuclear, and even hydropower.
The operational capacity of Adani Green Energy was significantly increased by 34 percent year-on-year to 11,184 MW in the first half of FY25, featuring greenfield expansions that include 2,000 MW of solar capacity and 250 MW wind capacity in Khavda, 418 MW of solar capacity in Rajasthan, and 200 MW of wind capacity in Gujarat.
Adani Green is on course to meet its target of 50 GW in renewable energy capacity by 2030, which includes a minimum of 5 GW of energy storage.
