Patna, April 12 (NationPress) In a tragic event, a man purportedly killed his wife in front of their young children during a domestic quarrel in the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar, an official reported on Saturday.
This incident transpired in Jhinga village under the jurisdiction of the Motipur police station on Friday evening.
The suspect has been identified as Mohammad Kalimullah, also known as Munna.
Kalimullah is accused of brutally attacking his second wife, Mehruhnisha, with a stick until she succumbed to her injuries.
The horrific incident unfolded before their children Samir and Salman, and a video of the event has since gone viral on social media.
In the disturbing footage, the assailant was seen continuing the assault even after the victim had died.
Police reports indicate that the incident occurred shortly after Kalimullah returned Mehruhnisha from her maternal home to attend a cousin’s wedding.
After a domestic disagreement erupted, he violently attacked her.
Despite the children's frantic pleas for help, no villagers intervened to rescue Mehruhnisha from her husband's attack.
Following her death, Kalimullah managed to escape the scene promptly.
It is noteworthy that Kalimullah's first wife had died, making Mehruhnisha his second spouse.
“The suspect is currently evading capture, and police teams are actively conducting raids to apprehend him,” stated DSP Suchitra Kumari of Muzaffarpur's Western Range to IANS.
An FIR has been lodged under pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint filed by the victim's mother, Rajja Khatoon, at the Motipur police station, and investigations are underway.
“We have retrieved the victim's body and dispatched it to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem. A team has also been assembled to locate the accused, who remains at large,” Kumari said.
The police are advising the public to refrain from sharing the video further to safeguard the identities of the victim and the minor children involved.
