Patna, Sep 2 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep emotion on Tuesday while recounting his sorrow over the derogatory remarks directed at his late mother from the Congress-RJD stage during the recent ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar. His heartfelt address, made virtually to the Jeevika Didis, carried a significant warning: “I may find it in my heart to forgive the offenders, but the people of Bihar and Bharat will not.”
This poignant moment occurred during the inauguration of the Bihar Rajya Jeevika Nidhi Saakh Sahkari Sangh, a support system aimed at assisting Jeevika Didis financially. The Prime Minister appeared visibly shaken as he recounted his distress over the insults hurled at his late mother in a political setting.
“You all know my mother is no longer with us. She departed from this world not long ago after reaching the remarkable age of 100. My mother, who had no connection to politics, was subjected to heinous insults from the RJD-Congress platform. This is profoundly upsetting and heart-wrenching,” PM Modi remarked.
“What wrongdoing did that mother commit to deserve such vile treatment?” he questioned.
The slurs were directed at the Prime Minister’s mother during the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Darbhanga, Bihar, from a stage adorned with posters of Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav; however, neither was present when the incident occurred.
Condemning the Congress-RJD alliance, PM Modi stated that the mentality that attacks mothers and sisters views women as inferior beings. This attitude perpetuates the exploitation and oppression of women.
The Prime Minister further emphasized that whenever administrations with anti-woman views have held power, “our mothers, sisters, and daughters have faced the most hardship.”
He underscored the reverence given to mothers, particularly in Bihar, where 'Chhatti Maiya' is honored, asserting that such abusive actions will not be forgiven by the people.
“I want to convey to those who insulted my mother before the citizens of Bihar — Modi might extend forgiveness, but the land of Bihar and India has never accepted the humiliation of a mother,” he declared.
PM Modi also urged the public to seek accountability from the RJD and Congress regarding the derogatory slogans against mothers at all forthcoming public gatherings and rallies.
It is worth noting that the individual who insulted PM Modi’s mother was arrested shortly afterward, but the RJD or Congress have yet to express remorse or offer an apology for the incident.
