New Delhi, April 21 (NationPress) On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 17th Civil Services Day at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, where he praised India’s civil servants for their crucial role in realizing a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) and presented the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration.

During his address, PM Modi honored Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who famously called civil servants the "steel frame" of India.

He stressed that to fulfill the vision of a developed India by 2047, collaboration among all administrative sectors is essential, along with a progressive, technology-driven mindset.

“Governance cannot persist with outdated practices. As the world and youth advance with rapid technological changes, our bureaucracy must keep pace,” PM Modi remarked.

Numerous IAS officers who were honored conveyed their appreciation and detailed how their initiatives resonate with the Prime Minister’s vision.

Athar Aamir Khan, District Magistrate of Kulgam, Jammu & Kashmir, expressed, “It’s a tremendous privilege to receive this award from PM Modi. His support has motivated us. Under his vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’, programs like PM Mudra Yojana are empowering youth across the nation.”

Ayushi Sudan, IAS from Kupwara, J&K, highlighted the significance of capacity building and technology.

“Firstly, I am thankful to the Prime Minister for honoring us with this award. Indeed, capacity building is vital at every stage, from the beginning to the culmination of one's career. We’ve established over 300 smart classrooms, robotics, and innovation labs to enhance education. By utilizing trackers and monitoring tools, we strive to ensure improved governance at the grassroots level.”

Swapneel Paul, from Tinsukia, Assam, discussed innovations in water supply through the Jal Shala and Jaldoot schemes.

“For the first time in many flood-prone villages, uninterrupted water supply is accessible during monsoons, greatly diminishing waterborne diseases. I am thankful for being recognized by PM Modi,” Paul stated.

Prabhav Joshi, DM of Rajkot, shared advancements in solar energy and housing: “We have installed over 33 solar rooftops, leading to zero power bills. Under PM Awas Yojana, 9,200 homes were built, enhancing living conditions in slums.”

Neha Meena, IAS from Jhabua, MP, elaborated on the 'Moti Aai' campaign to fight anemia through local community involvement.

“Our initiative utilized regional language folk songs and peer counseling to tackle malnutrition among tribal children,” Meena explained.

Rajarshi Shah, Adilabad District Collector, emphasized the transformation in Narnoor Block: “In the last two years, notable enhancements in health, education, and infrastructure have enabled us to meet saturation targets. We also initiated a 'Mahua Laddu' program for anemic girls, acknowledged by the PM in 'Mann Ki Baat.'

Shashank Shubhankar, IAS from Nalanda, Bihar, stated, “This accolade mirrors our district’s effectiveness in executing schemes. The Prime Minister rightly noted that true quality in governance extends beyond merely launching programs; it’s about ensuring they genuinely reach and benefit the populace on the ground.”
