MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared insights on X, noting, "Secretary (West) Sibi George hosted a luncheon for Nordic Ambassadors in New Delhi. They discussed methods to further fortify relations between India and the Nordic countries, focusing on sectors like trade and investment, digital technologies, AI, quantum, renewable energy, clean technologies, the Arctic, and space. The importance of leveraging both the India-EU FTA and India-EFTA TEPA was emphasized."
The Nordic countries include Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
Denmark's Ambassador to India, Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, remarked on the mutual benefits between Nordic nations and India.
"The Nordic Countries and India have a wealth of opportunities to offer each other, further amplified by the EU-India and India-EFTA FTAs. A $4 trillion economy connecting with a $2 trillion economy. It was a pleasure to meet Secretary West Sibi George today alongside other Nordic Ambassadors in Delhi," Kristensen posted on X post-meeting.
This month, Finnish President Alexander Stubb made a State Visit to India, elevating the partnership with Finland to a 'Strategic Partnership in Digitalization and Sustainability'.
Stubb was the Chief Guest at the Raisina Dialogue held in New Delhi from March 5 to 7. During his visit, he and Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the vast potential for collaboration in trade, commerce, infrastructure, defense, space, AI, semiconductors, education, and more.
"India is thrilled to host President Stubb of Finland. His role as the Chief Guest at this year's Raisina Dialogue is equally exciting. Our discussions today were extensive, focusing on the significant potential in trade and commerce, especially following the India-EU Free Trade Agreement.
