Is There Any Basis for Pakistan's Claim on BrahMos Installation and Indian Airfields?

New Delhi, May 10 (NationPress) The conclusion of India’s anti-terror initiative, ‘Operation Sindoor’, was marked by a ceasefire with Pakistan on Saturday. The Defence Ministry confirmed significant damage to enemy land and air assets along the Line of Control and in central Pakistan, dismissing rumors of setbacks on the Indian front.

The declaration of ceasefire ignited spontaneous celebrations across the nation, particularly in border regions of Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan, with citizens chanting slogans like “Bharat Mata ki Jai.”

This cessation of hostilities after four days symbolizes a notable military achievement for India, which is expected to maintain control over the Indus Waters Treaty, currently on hold.

According to a defense analyst, India has emerged as a stronger military entity, proving itself as a potential ‘Super Power’ capable of subduing a nuclear-armed Pakistan, thereby justifying its claim for a permanent seat in the UN Security Council.

The conclusion of ‘Operation Sindoor’, as stated by Defence officials, hinges on the principle that any future acts of terrorism will be regarded as acts of war, warranting a robust response.

The Ministry of Defence emphasized that during Operation Sindoor, Indian forces successfully thwarted three major waves of missile and drone assaults from Pakistan, inflicting substantial damage on their air defense systems.

During a joint media briefing post-ceasefire, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi reiterated the armed forces' commitment to respecting all religious sites and refuted allegations that Indian forces targeted mosques.

She also labeled claims from Pakistani military officers regarding the destruction of Indian BrahMos installations by their JF-17 jets and attacks on airfields in Surat and Sirsa as misinformation.

Furthermore, Colonel Qureshi rejected claims of damage to Indian forward ammunition depots at Chandigarh and Beas, while accusing Pakistan of attacking medical facilities in Srinagar, Avantipura, and Udhampur.

She added that India inflicted heavy damage on the Pakistani military, targeting air bases at Skardu, Sargodha, Jacobabad, and Bholari, rendering Pakistani airspace untenable due to precision strikes on air defense systems and radar installations.

Prior to the ceasefire, India successfully countered Pakistan’s drone strikes overnight and conducted precision strikes on six Pakistan Air Force bases including Rafiqui, Sukkur, Murid, Chunia, Chaklala, and Rahim Yar Khan, according to official reports.
