New Delhi, Jan 13 (NationPress) The Diplomatic Advisor to French President Emmanuel Macron, Emmanuel Bonne, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, where the Prime Minister expressed his contentment with the current direction of the bilateral relationship. After their discussion, Modi took to X to share his positive sentiments about the meeting.

He stated, "It was a pleasure to engage with Emmanuel Bonne, the Diplomatic Advisor to President Macron. We reaffirmed the robust and trusted India–France Strategic Partnership, characterized by close collaboration across various sectors. It is encouraging to witness our partnership expanding into innovation, technology, and education, especially as we celebrate the India–France Year of Innovation."

The Prime Minister also mentioned that both sides exchanged insights on significant regional and global matters and expressed eagerness for President Macron’s upcoming visit to India.

The meeting followed the 38th India–France Strategic Dialogue, which was co-chaired earlier in the day by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and the French official in New Delhi. This dialogue reaffirmed the depth and vastness of the bilateral partnership.

As per the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the strategic dialogue assessed the full range of India–France cooperation, encompassing security, defense, technology, space, and civil nuclear energy. Both parties reiterated their dedication to enhancing collaboration through joint development and innovation, aligning with India’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.

The discussions also delved into the evolving geopolitical landscape and crucial regional and international issues of mutual concern. Underlining the necessity for closer coordination, India and France emphasized the importance of increased cooperation to tackle emerging global security challenges and to foster peace and stability, according to the MEA.

Preparations for French President Emmanuel Macron's forthcoming visit to India were also discussed during the dialogue, with both sides expressing confidence that the visit would further fortify bilateral relations and enhance strategic engagement.

During his visit, Bonne also met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, reflecting the high-level political engagement between the two nations. Their mutual commitment to advancing the strategic partnership was underscored by this visit.

Geopolitical analysts view the India–France Strategic Dialogue as a critical component supporting a free, open, and rules-based Indo-Pacific. Experts believe that deeper collaboration across defense, counter-terrorism, space, nuclear energy, and emerging technologies will enhance strategic autonomy, balance regional power dynamics, and substantially contribute to long-term stability, both regionally and globally.
