Paris, Aug 15 (NationPress) French President Emmanuel Macron extended his warm congratulations to his 'friend' Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the citizens of India on the occasion of the nation's 79th Independence Day. He expressed hope that the strategic partnership between India and France will continue to grow as they move towards 2047 and beyond.
Macron shared on X, "Heartfelt congratulations to the people of India on your 79th Independence Day! I fondly remember welcoming my friend Narendra Modi to France in February, and I eagerly anticipate deepening our strategic partnership as we approach 2047 and beyond."
Recently, France's Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noel Barrot, emphasized the bond of trust and shared aspirations that unite France and India.
"Let’s continue to build on our strategic partnership!" Barrot wrote, thanking External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar for his well wishes to France on its National Day celebrated on July 14.
EAM Jaishankar reaffirmed the strong and enduring strategic partnership between India and France during his visit to Paris in June, which followed Prime Minister Modi's significant visit to France for the AI Action Summit just four months earlier.
The discussions between the two nations reflected the profound trust, comfort, and shared ambition that define India-France relations. Both sides are dedicated to the complete implementation of the Horizon 2047 Roadmap and the Defence Industrial Roadmap established between Macron and PM Modi.
This roadmap outlines the trajectory of their bilateral relationship leading up to 2047, a year that will mark the centenary of India's independence, the diplomatic relations between the two nations, and 50 years of their strategic partnership.
Both countries have expressed satisfaction with progress in bilateral cooperation across emerging sectors such as technology, innovation, trade, investment, health, life sciences, education, talent mobility, museum collaboration, and people-to-people connections, while also seeking new opportunities for cooperation to enhance bilateral relations further.
New Delhi and Paris are eagerly anticipating the celebration of the India-France Year of Innovation next year, which promises to add a new dimension to their bilateral ties.
