New Delhi, May 8 (NationPress) Once again underscoring Pakistan's status as the epicenter of global terrorism, India raised concerns on Thursday regarding Islamabad's assertions about civilian casualties during the May 7 Operation Sindoor strikes. This comes as viral video footage showcases eliminated terrorists receiving state funerals.
"The narrative suggesting only civilians were impacted during the May 7 strikes is misleading. We have clearly stated that all operations conducted that morning targeted meticulously selected terrorist infrastructures and objectives," Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri asserted in a media briefing about Operation Sindoor in New Delhi.
"It remains unclear to us, especially when observing the aftermath of these strikes and the funerals conducted for the terrorists. Many of you have likely seen the reports and media coverage. If indeed only civilians suffered losses, one must ponder the implications of the images circulating. This merits further inquiry," he stated, presenting a photograph displaying UN-designated terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba's prominent Commander Hafiz Abdur Rauf conducting funeral prayers for LeT terrorists who were killed in Indian airstrikes in Muridke.
"It's peculiar that civilian funerals are marked by coffins adorned with Pakistani flags and bestowed with state honors. From our standpoint, those eliminated in these operations were terrorists. The practice of granting state funerals to terrorists, while perhaps commonplace in Pakistan, is perplexing to us," Misri continued.
Misri reiterated that Pakistan's designation as the epicenter of global terrorism stems from numerous incidents.
"I need not remind anyone of where Osama Bin Laden was located or who referred to him as a martyr. Pakistan hosts many UN-listed terrorists, as well as those deemed terrorists by various nations. Recently, their Defence Minister and former Foreign Minister acknowledged their country's ties with such terrorist entities," he highlighted.
Earlier, the Indian Armed Forces targeted Air Defence Radars and systems across several locations in Pakistan.
