Did Pakistan's Claims of Destruction of Indian Air Bases Hold Any Truth?

New Delhi, May 10 (NationPress) The Centre firmly dismissed Pakistan's assertions regarding the devastation of significant Indian military facilities, labeling them as part of a “malicious misinformation campaign.”

In support of its rebuttal, India presented visual proof, showcasing recent images—with distinct date and time stamps—of the runways at the Suratgarh and Sirsa Air Force Stations, which Pakistan inaccurately claimed were obliterated.

During a press briefing on ‘Operation Sindoor’, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, alongside Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Indian Army Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, stated, “Pakistan has persistently attempted to execute a harmful misinformation campaign, amplifying false narratives on social media about the destruction of the Indian S-400 system at Adampur, airfields at Suratgarh and Sirsa, the BrahMos base at Nagrota, RT gun positions at Dehrangari, and the forward ammunition depot at Chandigarh, in addition to claims of extensive damage to other military installations.”

“India categorically rejects these fabricated narratives propagated by Pakistan,” she emphasized.

“As demonstrated, Pakistani assertions regarding their activities are laden with deceit, misinformation, and propaganda, largely fueled by Pakistani state agencies.

“The allegations concerning the destruction of the air force station in Sirsa are entirely untrue. Similarly, the claims about the air force station in Suratgarh being destroyed are also completely false, as evidenced,” Misri added.

“There is also a fallacious claim that the S-400 base at Adampur was annihilated, which is again completely false. Allegations have been made regarding major segments of Indian critical infrastructure, power systems, cyber systems, etc., being attacked and destroyed, which are utterly false. I urge everyone not to be deceived by this tissue of lies disseminated by the Pakistani state for evident purposes,” he continued.

India also condemned Pakistan's assaults on civilian structures, especially at the Srinagar, Avantipur, and Udhampur air bases.

“Pakistan has incessantly provoked, targeting civilian and military infrastructures, including healthcare facilities and schools located at air bases,” Wing Commander Singh remarked.

The Indian Air Force noted that Pakistan attempted harassment attacks and air intrusions across over 26 locations from Srinagar to Nalia.

“The Indian armed forces successfully neutralized these threats and the majority of the vectors. However, some equipment and personnel at Indian Air Force stations in Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, and Bhuj did sustain limited damage,” she said.

“Subsequent to 01:40 hours, several high-speed missile attacks were observed at various air bases in Punjab,” she added.

Labeling the targeting of civilian infrastructure as a “deplorable cowardly act,” Wing Commander Singh stressed, “Pakistan attacked the Medicare center and school premises at the air bases of Srinagar, Avantipur, and Udhampur, once again showcasing irresponsible targeting of our civil infrastructure.”

India retaliated with precision strikes focused solely on Pakistan's military infrastructure.

“In a prompt and calculated response, the Indian armed forces executed precision strikes on identified military targets, including technical infrastructure, command and control centers, radar sites, and weapon storage areas,” she concluded.
