He stated, “India and the UK are natural allies. Our relationship is founded on shared values such as democracy, freedom, and the rule of law. In these times of global uncertainty, our strengthening partnership is becoming an essential pillar for global stability and economic advancement.”
“Under Prime Minister Starmer’s leadership, we have witnessed significant advancements in India-UK relations. During my visit to the UK in July, we established a historic Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement. Your visit to India shortly after this Agreement, accompanied by the largest business delegation yet, epitomizes the renewed vigor and broader vision of the India-UK partnership,” PM Modi added.
“We exchanged perspectives on peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific and West Asia, and addressed the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Regarding the Ukraine situation and the Gaza issue, India endorses all efforts aimed at restoring peace through dialogue and diplomacy. We are wholly devoted to enhancing maritime security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region,” PM Modi stated.
“We have formalized an agreement on military training collaboration. As part of this, Flying Instructors from the Indian Air Force will serve as trainers in the UK’s Royal Air Force,” he noted.
Prime Minister Modi remarked, “The most extensive and influential delegation from the education sector has come alongside Prime Minister Starmer. It is delightful to announce that nine UK universities will soon establish campuses in India. Recently, the Gurugram campus of Southampton University was inaugurated, and the first cohort of students has begun their admissions.”
