Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Dec 10 (NationPress) Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella stated on Wednesday that India is poised to emerge as the world’s largest developer community by 2030. This assertion underscores the nation’s expanding talent pool and its rising influence in the realm of next-generation AI innovation.
During a recent event, Nadella elaborated on how innovative tools and platforms are revolutionizing the methods by which individuals create software, develop applications, and design multi-agent AI systems.
He projected that by 2030, India will have approximately 57.5 million developers, placing it at the forefront globally.
Nadella emphasized this as a significant opportunity for the country to deliver “societal-scale” solutions powered by AI. He noted, “Developers in India are already leveraging GitHub, Azure, and Microsoft’s cutting-edge AI platforms to engage in advanced projects that were previously confined to major research facilities,” he added.
He introduced Microsoft’s new toolkit for developing AI applications, which consists of AppBuilder, Copilot Studio, and Foundry.
Discussing the future of software development, Nadella remarked that the emphasis has shifted from a singular AI model to creating a comprehensive ecosystem that allows developers to select, assess, and deploy the appropriate model with assurance.
“Microsoft is making substantial investments in this ecosystem so that developers, particularly in India, can develop next-generation applications that integrate seamlessly with existing data and systems utilized by businesses,” he noted.
In related news, the tech giant announced on Tuesday its plan to invest $17.5 billion in India over the next four years. This announcement followed Nadella’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On social media platform X, Nadella expressed gratitude to PM Modi, stating, “Thank you, PM Narendra Modi, for an inspiring conversation about India’s AI potential.”
He further added, “To bolster the nation’s ambitions, Microsoft is pledging $17.5 billion—our largest investment in Asia—to aid in developing the infrastructure, skills, and sovereign capabilities essential for an AI-first future in India.
