PM Modi Expresses Enthusiasm for Microsoft's Strategic Growth and Investment Initiatives in India

New Delhi, Jan 6 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a meeting with Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella on Monday, conveyed his excitement regarding the tech behemoth's ambitious growth and investment initiatives within India.

In a message shared on the social media platform X, PM Modi stated: "It was indeed a pleasure to meet you, @satyanadella! I am glad to learn about Microsoft's ambitious expansion and investment plans in India. It was also fantastic to discuss various aspects of technology, innovation, and AI during our meeting."

Nadella expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his visionary leadership.

"I am thrilled to build upon our commitment to transforming India into an AI-first nation and collaborating on our ongoing expansion in the country to ensure that every Indian reaps the benefits of this AI platform transition," remarked the Microsoft CEO.

Microsoft is empowering the rapidly growing developer community in India to create products and services not only for the nation but also for the global market.

Ultimately, Microsoft is a developer-centric organization, and India showcases immense potential in generating AI-based products on the company's AI-powered platform, GitHub.

"India, currently ranked second to the US, is projected to possess the largest developer community on GitHub by 2027. The nation is presently ranked second among the top 10 global communities producing the highest number of generative AI projects on GitHub," Nadella noted last year.

He also mentioned that 10 percent of India's ambitious $5 trillion economy target by 2025 will be driven by AI.

Microsoft aims to offer AI skilling opportunities to 2 million individuals in India by 2025.

Last year, India initiated the IndiaAI mission to boost AI-related advancements in the country. The Union Cabinet, led by PM Modi, sanctioned an allocation of over Rs 10,300 crore for the IndiaAI Mission, marking a major step forward in strengthening the AI ecosystem within the nation.
