New Delhi, Jan 19 (NationPress) Union Minister for Railways and Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, is set to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos, as announced on Sunday.
This visit underscores India’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth and transformative advancement, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to the Ministry of Electronics & IT.
“PM Modi has emphasized inclusive development that effects transformative changes for those at the bottom of the pyramid. From financial inclusion through bank accounts to providing essential services such as toilets, gas connections, tap water, and enhancing infrastructure in both rural and urban settings, this is something the world is eager to comprehend,” the Minister remarked prior to his departure to Davos.
The Union Minister noted that a comprehensive dialogue at the World Economic Forum will focus on inclusive growth, investments in social, physical, and digital infrastructure, and democratizing technology.
“The global community is interested in understanding India’s economic policies, the digital transformation initiated by the Digital India program, and the democratization of technology to empower citizens from all societal layers,” the Minister expressed.
India’s involvement in WEF 2025 aims to bolster partnerships, attract investments, and establish the country as a global frontrunner in sustainable development and technological innovation.
The nation’s innovative digital framework, developed under the Digital India initiative, has set a worldwide standard for utilizing technology to promote inclusive development, a primary focus of discussions at the forum, as per the ministry.
The country is dispatching five Union Ministers, three Chief Ministers, and representatives from several other states to WEF this year.
The five-day event, commencing January 20, will delve into methods to re-ignite growth, leverage new technologies, and enhance social and economic resilience, according to the WEF. The global meeting is expected to see participation from nearly 3,000 leaders across over 130 countries, including 350 governmental leaders.
