Patna, May 15 (NationPress) Founder of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) and former Bihar Minister Mukesh Sahani asserted on Thursday that India must reject US mediation amidst escalating tensions with Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack.
Sahani criticized US President Donald Trump's recent comments regarding the intensifying discord between India and Pakistan, describing it as an unprecedented and disrespectful intrusion.
"A statement of this nature has never been uttered by a US President before. It is a direct affront to India's sovereignty. Our Prime Minister needs to address this. If India chooses to act, Pakistan would not last even two hours," he commented during a press briefing in Khagaria.
He further took aim at the BJP for its attempts to claim credit for Operation Sindoor.
"The BJP has a tendency to convert disasters into opportunities for electoral gain. They are politicizing every matter, including national security," Sahani stated.
The BJP has initiated the Tiranga Yatra across the nation to honor the valor of the Indian armed forces during Operation Sindoor.
In particular, the Indian Air Force successfully targeted nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.
This military operation, carried out in the early hours of May 7, aimed at terrorist strongholds in places like Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sarjal, Hed Marala, Barnala, Kotli, Bilal, and Muzaffarabad. These camps are implicated in harboring terrorists responsible for the recent Pahalgam attack.
On May 10, US President Donald Trump posted on his official X account, "After a lengthy night of discussions brokered by the US, I am happy to declare that India and Pakistan have concurred on a complete and immediate ceasefire. Congratulations to both nations for exercising common sense and great intelligence. Thank you for your involvement in this matter."
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha, who leads the Rashtriya Lok Morcha, reaffirmed India's position on Kashmir.
"India's stance is unequivocal. We reject any third-party mediation concerning Kashmir. Our approach to terrorism is one of zero tolerance," he stated.
Kushwaha also commented on the BJP and Congress organizing nationwide Tiranga Yatras, noting, "While it is commendable to honor the Indian Army and soldiers through such initiatives, Congress should avoid politicizing this occasion."
