New Delhi, July 17 (NationPress) On Thursday, India reaffirmed its determination to provide comprehensive support in the case of Nimisha Priya, a nurse from Kerala who was sentenced to death in Yemen for the alleged murder of a Yemeni individual. The Indian government is actively engaging with several friendly nations to ensure all possible assistance.
"This is a highly sensitive issue, and the Government of India is committed to offering every possible support in this matter. We have facilitated legal assistance and appointed a lawyer to aid the family. Regular consular visits for the family have also been arranged, and we maintain communication with both the local authorities and the family members to facilitate a resolution," stated Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), during a media briefing in New Delhi.
