Mumbai, July 17 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition, Ambadas Danve, launched a vehement critique of the Maharashtra government on Thursday, asserting that crime and corruption have soared to alarming levels, resulting in a significant decline in law and order within the state.

Danve charged that corruption has proliferated across numerous departments. “Despite the government’s grandiose proclamations regarding a clean administration through its media outreach, new scandals surface daily. What can be done when the ministers in power are themselves engaged in corrupt practices?” he questioned.

Since the inception of the grand coalition government, Danve argued that its term has been plagued by various scams, accusing the administration of failing to take action against those implicated.

He further alleged that several ministers lack competence and refuse to perform any duties without a kickback.

“As farmers face dire straits and incidents of injustice and violence against women escalate, the government remains mute, with ministers preoccupied solely with securing contracts,” Danve lamented.

“Members of the ruling party are implicated in numerous crimes, and they are also leading in the perpetration of atrocities against women. The Home Department appears to be a mere bystander, failing to act against any criminal activity. Maharashtra has transformed into a haven for gangsters and robbers,” he asserted.

“In the past five months, 1.60 lakh crimes have been recorded in the state, including 924 murders, averaging 6 murders daily. Additionally, 3,506 rapes have been reported. What emboldens individuals linked to these incidents?” Ambadas Danve pondered.

He noted that “approximately 10,400 crimes have been logged in the Chief Minister's Nagpur district, with major crimes reported in Pune, Sambhajinagar, and Nashik. Maharashtra ranks 10th in crime rates, with gangs operating extensively in Pune amidst rampant nepotism.”
