Ahmedabad, Dec 28 (NationPress) — Gautam Adani, the Chairman of Adani Group, emphasized on Sunday that India is on the brink of a transformative era where technology, talent, and national purpose must align harmoniously. He encouraged the younger generation to step forward and spearhead the age of artificial intelligence.
During his address at the inauguration of the Vidya Pratishthan’s Sharad Pawar Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CoE-AI) in Baramati, Maharashtra, Adani remarked, "India’s strength is rooted in its capability to unite individuals, institutions, and long-term visions. This same clarity is essential as young Indians engage with AI, not merely as users but as architects and leaders of innovation."
He acknowledged the concerns surrounding AI, reminding the audience of history's lessons.
"Every significant technological revolution, from the industrial transformations to India’s digital evolution, has enhanced human capabilities," the Adani Group Chairman stated.
"Artificial intelligence will elevate this by empowering ordinary citizens with intelligence and productivity tools, enabling youth from all backgrounds to join in the nation’s growth," he added.
Gautam Adani also warned that leadership in AI is not something that can be outsourced. "In an era where intelligence increasingly dictates economic strength and national stature, relying on foreign algorithms poses risks," he cautioned.
"Data, decision-making, and capabilities must be firmly rooted in national interests. Developing indigenous AI frameworks, robust computational infrastructure, and resilient intelligence ecosystems is critical for India's economic security, cultural assurance, and strategic independence," the billionaire industrialist expressed.
He contextualized this vision by highlighting the expanding role of the Adani Group within the global AI landscape.
The diversified conglomerate is making substantial investments in data centers, digital infrastructure, and clean energy that support large-scale computing while attracting active participation from global tech giants like Google and Microsoft, as India positions itself as a pivotal hub for AI-driven growth.
The center of excellence is established under the Baramati-based educational trust Vidya Pratishthan, with a generous contribution of Rs 25 crore from Gautam Adani in 2023.
This initiative aims to foster advanced research, skill enhancement, and industry-relevant training in cutting-edge technologies.
According to project affiliates, it will concentrate on AI applications in agriculture, healthcare, governance, and industry, emphasizing collaboration between academia and the private sector.
