Indore, December 16 (NationPress) A specialized Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Indore has adjudicated ten individuals to five years of incarceration related to the Vyapam scam.
Each of the convicted individuals has also been imposed a fine of Rs 3,000.
The individuals convicted include Rameshwar, Rakesh, Devendra, Chetan, Balram, Harpal, Gopal, Jitendra, Dinesh, and Digvijay Singh Solanki, who were found guilty of impersonation and utilizing forged documents to obtain positions in the Patwari recruitment exam organized by Vyapam in 2008.
This case traces back to an FIR filed by the Madhya Pradesh Police at the Kotwali police station in Khargone district on October 26, 2012.
Eventually, the case was handed over to the CBI, which submitted a chargesheet on May 28, 2014, concluding a two-year investigation.
The court's ruling indicated that the accused deceived authorities by presenting fake certificates and documents as authentic to secure their selection in the examination.
This conviction marks yet another stride in the CBI's ongoing mission to hold accountable those involved in the Vyapam scam.
The irregularities associated with Vyapam, first identified in 2001, revealed a collusion involving bureaucrats, politicians, and middlemen.
The scandal surfaced in 2013, resulting in numerous cases being processed in specialized CBI courts located in Bhopal, Indore, and Gwalior.
