Kolkata, Sep 9 (NationPress) A rift has emerged within the Trinamool Congress, featuring West Bengal Minister Siddiqullah Chowdhury and a prominent party figure regarding a recent assault on the minister's vehicle. Chowdhury, who oversees the State Mass Education Extension and Library Services, directed his criticism towards Trinamool's Monteswar Panchayat Samiti president Ahmed Hossain Sheikh in light of this incident.
During a press briefing, Chowdhury asserted, "If Siddiqullah Chowdhury is eliminated, a thousand more will arise. I’ve battled against the previous CPI(M) administration in Bengal and successfully dismantled it. Removing a singular leader will not be a lengthy process."
This remark followed weeks after his convoy faced an attack in the Monteswar region of East Burdwan, allegedly by fellow Trinamool Congress members, resulting in the vandalism of his vehicle and the arrest of several party workers.
Chowdhury further accused Sheikh, stating, "If you intimidate party members and provoke them to assault senior leaders and state ministers, the populace will dismantle such leaders. If you fail to exercise self-control, you will encounter repercussions. There will be no need for a minister's counsel; the party will take action against you."
The minister's intense response could potentially escalate tensions within the Trinamool Congress.
He urged individuals to reach out to him if any party leader poses a threat. He emphasized that no one holds superiority over the party and that all members must adhere to their leadership.
"You can obtain our contact information. Inform us about any leader who reprimands you. I am curious about their status! Such significant rivalry. No individual surpasses the party. Misconduct will lead to disciplinary action," he declared.
Despite the minister's fervent remarks, there has been no response from the Trinamool Congress leader.
