Mozambique, April 21 (NationPress) INS Sunayna, currently deployed in Africa as Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) SAGAR, departed for Port Louis, Mauritius, on Monday after successfully completing a three-day port visit to Nacala, Mozambique, as stated by the Indian Navy.

The vessel's crew comprises 44 personnel from the navies of nine friendly foreign nations, highlighting the collaborative essence of the Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR) initiative.

“Before its planned arrival in Port Louis, IOS SAGAR will conduct a Joint Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) Surveillance with Mozambican authorities,” the navy mentioned in a statement.

Earlier, on April 5, the ship left Karwar, Goa, carrying 44 naval personnel from nine Friendly Foreign Nations (FFNs) of the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), including Comoros, Kenya, Madagascar, Maldives, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, and South Africa, and entered the Port of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh flagged off INS Sunayna from Karwar as IOS SAGAR, with 44 personnel from nine friendly foreign navies onboard.

This deployment marks a new chapter in maritime cooperation and emphasizes India's commitment to a safe, peaceful, and prosperous Indian Ocean Region, nurturing robust naval partnerships and regional stability.
