Ayodhya, Nov 10 (NationPress) As the country commemorated the sixth anniversary of the Supreme Court's ruling on the Ram Temple on November 9, two individuals from differing faiths chose to unite in marriage in Ayodhya. Abhishek Yadav and Indima, both long-time residents of Ayodhya, decided to celebrate their bond by solemnizing their relationship on this significant date, marking the historic SC judgment in a truly unique manner.
The couple exchanged seven vows, committing to each other for life and beyond, thereby cementing their relationship with the sacred bond of marriage, symbolizing a fresh start in their lives.
The groom, Abhishek Yadav, shared that he had been in a relationship with a girl named Indima for three years.
“After about six or seven months, her family discovered our relationship. Due to her being Muslim, they opposed it and pressured her, which led her to flee,” Abhishek explained.
He further stated that after her disappearance, the girl's mother accused him of abduction, resulting in an FIR against him.
“Despite the girl not being with me, I was wrongfully imprisoned. Once released, I was determined to marry her. Today, we celebrated our marriage in accordance with Hindu customs,” he remarked.
Abhishek noted that while the girl was 17 during the prior incident, she is now 18 years and two months old.
“We both entered this marriage voluntarily. We chose this date to honor the Supreme Court's ruling in favor of the Ram Temple,” he added.
The bride, Mehak Yadav, also known as Indima Khan, affirmed that their decision was made freely, without any external coercion.
“We have been together for three years. I am now 18 years old. We got married according to Hindu customs, and we are extremely happy. Previously, my parents made false accusations against him. Now, we only seek protection,” she stated.
Mahant Sant Das, who officiated the ceremony, expressed, “They have been in a relationship for many years. The girl wished for the wedding to be conducted according to Sanatan Dharma rituals.”
On November 9, 2019, a five-member Constitution Bench led by then Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi delivered a landmark verdict in the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case. The court ruled for the construction of a temple at the disputed site and allocated five acres to the Muslim side for mosque construction. This judgment provided closure to one of India’s most contentious legal and religious disputes.
