New Delhi, March 5 (NationPress) The vision of investing in individuals is built on three fundamental pillars: education, skills, and healthcare, stated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. He called upon all stakeholders to actively participate and increase their investments in these critical areas, as they are essential for the forthcoming phase of development.
During a post-budget webinar focused on employment via video link, PM Modi remarked that this year's Union Budget serves as a roadmap for India's future.
He noted that investments are being allocated equally across infrastructure, industries, people, economy, and innovation.
Emphasizing that capacity building and talent development are fundamental for national progress, PM Modi highlighted their importance in achieving economic success and the success of every organization.
“India’s education system is witnessing a profound transformation after many decades,” he said, pointing to initiatives such as the National Education Policy, the expansion of IITs, the integration of technology into the education system, and the full utilization of AI.
He mentioned efforts like the digitalization of textbooks and the provision of learning materials in 22 Indian languages, asserting that “these mission-mode initiatives have allowed India's education system to align with the demands of the 21st century.”
PM Modi also highlighted that since 2014, the government has provided skill training to over 3 crore youth, upgraded 1,000 ITIs, and established 5 Centres of Excellence.
He emphasized the goal of equipping youth with training that aligns with industry needs.
“With assistance from global experts, we are striving to ensure that Indian youth can compete on a global scale,” said PM Modi.
The Prime Minister stressed the vital role of industry and academia in these efforts, urging both sectors to understand and cater to each other's requirements, thereby providing youth with opportunities to adapt to a rapidly changing world, gain exposure, and access practical learning platforms.
