Amaravati, Nov 13 (NationPress) YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has once again accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of "credit chori".
The former Chief Minister stated that the coalition government is "shamelessly claiming credit" for housing initiatives that were initiated, sanctioned, and largely carried out during the tenure of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).
In a post on 'X', Jagan remarked, "In the last 18 months, Chandrababu's government has not acquired a single square yard for the underprivileged and has not granted even one cent of house site."
He asserted that the Naidu administration did not even approve a single house and did not allocate any funds for such housing.
YSRCP's leader termed this a "disgraceful" attempt by CM Naidu to "convert others' labor into his own glory".
He stated that a person who appropriates credit for others' hard work is not a leader but merely a playwright.
YS Jagan highlighted, "Of the 300,092 houses that CM Naidu boasts about, not a single house-pattadar (site title) was issued by the current government."
He clarified that 140,010 houses were nearing completion under the YSRCP regime. While 87,380 houses had reached slab level, 66,845 homes were under construction during the YSRCP's governance.
He recalled that on October 12, 2023, the YSRCP government made history by conducting 743,396 house-warming ceremonies in a single day.
Highlighting the extent of YSRCP welfare, Jagan noted that the YSRCP government provided 31.19 lakh house site pattas to poor women across 71,800 acres, sanctioned 21.75 lakh houses, and, despite the challenges posed by the COVID pandemic, completed over 9 lakh houses.
Instead of building on this legacy, the present government has launched a program to lock up remaining vacant plots, which are meant for housing the underprivileged, and is utilizing yellow media to usurp credit for YSRCP's achievements, the former Chief Minister stated.
He condemned this behavior as utterly shameful, asserting that attempting to seize land designated for the poor and hiding behind propaganda is a form of political theft.
YS Jagan concluded, "Claiming other people's ideas and hard work, trying to appropriate the house sites designated for the underprivileged, and shamelessly promoting those lies embodies Chandrababu's credit-chor tactic."
