Jaipur, May 7 (NationPress) In response to India's surgical air strikes targeting terror camps across Pakistan, a high alert has been declared in Rajasthan's border regions, including Jaipur. This precautionary measure has led to the cancellation of four flights at Jaipur International Airport, prompting Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to return from his trip to Gujarat.
A mock emergency drill is slated to take place in Jaipur, featuring warning sirens that will be activated at 24 locations throughout the city.
Additionally, a nighttime blackout drill will be organized.
The sirens will be sounded at vital locations including the Collectorate, Shastri Nagar, Chandpole Power House, Chaugan Stadium, BSNL Office on MI Road, near Ghatgate Central Jail, Raj Bhavan, Secretariat, Zorawar Singh Gate, MNIT, Bajaj Nagar, Durgapura, and other essential infrastructure sites.
A coordination meeting regarding the drill was conducted on Tuesday at the office of the Collector.
Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni confirmed that sirens for the nighttime blackout will also be activated.
Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant issued directives for the mock drill through video conferencing, with the meeting attended by various officials, including Divisional Commissioner Poonam and Jaipur Range IG Ajay Pal Lamba.
In light of the situation, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma abbreviated his visit to the BJP training camp in Kevadia, Gujarat, and returned directly to Jaipur.
He immediately convened a meeting at the Chief Minister's Office to discuss the city's preparedness for the upcoming drill.
Security measures have been significantly intensified at Jaipur Junction Railway Station, where RPF Assistant Commandant PK Verma and Station Officer Pradeep Kumar oversaw security checks and drills.
Additional police personnel have been deployed at Jaipur International Airport and various strategic locations throughout the city.
As a result of the heightened alert, the following flights from Jaipur have been cancelled: IndiGo 6E-7742 to Chandigarh, IndiGo 6E-7718 to Chandigarh, IndiGo 6E-7414 to Chandigarh, and Oman Air OV-796 to Muscat.
