Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Feb 5 (NationPress) BJP leader Dilip Kumar Jaiswal on Thursday took aim at Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, criticizing his remarks directed at Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu. Jaiswal asserted that such language exemplifies arrogance and a deficiency in political decorum.
In response to reports of Rahul Gandhi labeling Bittu as a 'traitor friend', Jaiswal remarked that history has consistently shown that arrogance in public life is short-lived.
Speaking to IANS, Jaiswal commented, 'The language employed by Rahul Gandhi demonstrates arrogance, and history illustrates that arrogance is not sustainable. Divine intervention prevents it from enduring. His conduct and way of speaking starkly reveal a lack of the dignity expected from someone in a constitutional role like the Leader of Opposition.'
The Bihar minister emphasized that political differences should be articulated with restraint and responsibility, especially concerning sensitive topics surrounding national unity, armed forces, and communities with a rich legacy of sacrifice.
In reference to remarks from Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri criticizing LoP Gandhi, Jaiswal stated that the Sikh community's contributions to the nation are unparalleled and should remain outside the realm of political discourse.
'The Sikh community has made significant sacrifices for this nation and the world. From safeguarding the nation’s borders to upholding Sanatan traditions, their contributions are historic and inspirational. Any statements questioning their faith or commitment will never gain acceptance from the people of this country,' he said.
Jaiswal further asserted that such comments not only hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community but also threaten the spirit of unity and brotherhood that characterizes India's diverse society.
The minister also launched a pointed critique against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the ruling Trinamool Congress, accusing them of fostering lawlessness and political violence in the state.
'The hooliganism displayed by Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal has escalated to such a level that the state's populace is now resolved to remove her government. An atmosphere of fear, violence, and intimidation cannot persist indefinitely,' he alleged.
Jaiswal concluded by stating that the people of West Bengal are seeking change and accountability, asserting that democratic forces will ultimately triumph.
