Jalandhar Municipal Elections: AAP Unveils Vision for 100 Electric Buses and 24/7 Water Supply

Jalandhar, Dec 14 (NationPress) The governing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab officially commenced its campaign for the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation elections on Saturday, presenting a manifesto that includes five key commitments designed to enhance the city, featuring the launch of 100 electric buses and a round-the-clock water supply.

The Punjab AAP President, Aman Arora, stated that the party is dedicated to fulfilling these commitments promptly upon taking office.

This manifesto has been crafted through public consultations, ensuring a people-centric approach. Arora assured that all initiatives would start without any delays, reflecting the party’s emphasis on transparency and accountability in governance.

The five key commitments for Jalandhar include: 100 electric buses with charging infrastructure in the city; a continuous supply of drinking water; expansive parking facilities equipped with CCTV surveillance; the removal of 28 waste dumps to ensure a cleaner and healthier city environment; and the restoration of sports heritage with the establishment of sports memorials and the revival of significant sports sites like Burton Park.

Arora informed the media that AAP is poised to bring genuine change to Jalandhar. “These commitments are not mere promises; they are our obligations to the citizens of this esteemed city. Work on these initiatives will commence immediately after AAP’s mayor assumes office,” he stated.

He underscored the party’s history of fulfilling promises throughout the state under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He expressed confidence that the party would win in all wards, given the overwhelming support from Jalandhar's populace.

The introduction of 100 electric buses will address pollution issues and enhance public transport services.

Recognizing the acute problem of water scarcity in Jalandhar, AAP has pledged to provide clean drinking water to every household. Special measures will be undertaken to replace and upgrade the city’s outdated water pipelines.

Building on the successful clearance of the Model Town waste site, AAP commits to eliminating all 28 waste dumps across Jalandhar. The party aims to create a cleaner and healthier urban environment by systematically tackling the solid waste management crisis.
