Varanasi, April 20 (NationPress) The Jan Aushadhi Kendra, established in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, as part of the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), has transformed into a crucial resource for the local populace. This facility provides affordable medications for conditions such as Blood Pressure (BP), diabetes, cholesterol, thyroid issues, and heart ailments.
Many beneficiaries benefiting from the PM Jan Aushadhi Yojana shared their experiences with IANS.
Arvind Kumar Srivastava, who operates the PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Varanasi, remarked, “It has been nearly five years since this outlet was launched, and we have witnessed numerous improvements during this time. Initially, we had a limited range of medicines, but now we can offer almost every type of medication to the community.”
“We stock medications for BP, diabetes, cholesterol, thyroid, and heart diseases. Hundreds of patients have benefited from this Jan Aushadhi Kendra, as the prices here are significantly lower than in the market, allowing patients to save money,” he informed IANS.
Beneficiary Ramesh expressed satisfaction with the quality of medicines available at the Jan Aushadhi Kendra. “The medications are sold at lower prices compared to the market. This initiative by the Modi government is commendable for everyone. Previously, we purchased our medicines from private pharmacies, but now we obtain them from here,” he noted.
In a conversation with IANS, Usha Singh stated, “I used to buy my diabetes medications from the market, which were quite costly. Now, I get all my medicines from the Jan Aushadhi Kendra. The prices are much more affordable. I am grateful to PM Modi for introducing this beneficial program.”
Another beneficiary remarked that the Jan Aushadhi Kendra offers medicines at reduced prices. “This initiative from PM Modi is a lifesaver for those in need. Private pharmacies charge exorbitant prices. I wish to thank PM Modi for prioritizing the welfare of the underprivileged,” the individual added.
