Gandhinagar, Feb 27 (NationPress) As part of the ‘Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Yojana initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ‘Jan Aushadhi Kendra’ located in Gujarat's Panchmahal district has emerged as a crucial support system for the economically disadvantaged.

These kendras, including the one situated at the district's major civil hospital, are making essential medicines accessible to individuals at remarkably reduced prices.

IANS interviewed several beneficiaries and patrons of these kendras, all expressing their satisfaction with both the quality and affordability of the medications provided.

Mehul Rawal, who operates the ‘Jan Aushadhi Kendra’ in Panchmahal, noted that on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 73rd birthday, 73 ‘Jan Aushadhi Kendras’ were inaugurated.

He further elaborated: “Since the inception of this store, I have been working here, and the medications we offer are considerably cheaper than those available outside, while maintaining good quality. This significantly benefits patients, allowing them to access vital medicines at reasonable costs. Previously, some patients spent three to four thousand rupees monthly on medications from private stores, whereas they can procure the same medications at our kendra for only 700 to 800 rupees.”

PM Modi is committed to ensuring that no individual should suffer or lose their life due to the unavailability of affordable medication.

Praveen Singh Rana, a customer purchasing medicines from the ‘Jan Aushadhi Kendra’, shared his perspective: “I used to buy medicines from private stores, but now I obtain them here. The quality of medicines available is commendable. A medicine that costs 100 rupees at commercial pharmacies is available for merely 10 rupees here. I recommend others to source their medicines from this kendra, as it alleviates their financial strain.”

The ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana’ is designed to provide affordable and high-quality medications to the public, while also promoting awareness regarding generic medicines. Citizens across various states are expressing satisfaction with the availability of cost-effective medicines at these kendras.
