Srinagar, June 17 (NationPress) - The J&K administration has officially designated all routes for the Amarnath Yatra as ‘No Fly Zones’ from July 1 to August 10, 2025, as a crucial security measure aimed at ensuring comprehensive safety for the upcoming pilgrimage.
The Home Department released an order stating that the Lt Governor (L-G) has issued stringent directives concerning aerial activities during the Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025, marking all Yatra routes as No Flying Zones for the duration specified.
“In light of the impending Shri Amarnathji Yatra, which is set to occur from July 3 to August 9, 2025, various security measures are being implemented to facilitate a smooth and peaceful experience for the Yatra participants. Stakeholders have reviewed the current security landscape and suggested enhanced logistical provisions,” the official order outlines.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Home Affairs has recommended that the entire route of Shri Amarnathji Yatra, 2025 be classified as ‘No Flying Zone’ from July 1 to August 10, 2025.
The government affirmed that to bolster security during the Yatra, all routes, including both the Pahalgam and Baltal axes, are declared as No Flying Zones, prohibiting any form of aerial devices such as UAVs, drones, balloons, etc.
“These restrictions will be exempt for cases involving medical evacuations, disaster management, and surveillance by security personnel. A detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for such exceptions will be released in due course,” the statement elaborated.
