Jammu, April 10 (NationPress) J&K Lt Governor (L-G) Manoj Sinha announced on Thursday the termination of two government employees due to their alleged involvement in “anti-national activities”.
The dismissed individuals were associated with the Police Department (Assistant Wireless Operator) and the Public Works (R&B) Department (Senior Assistant).
Authorities indicated that the dismissals were executed in accordance with Article 311 of the Constitution of India, citing their “involvement in anti-national activities”.
The actions of these employees had raised concerns among law enforcement and intelligence agencies, as they were found to be engaged in activities damaging to the state's interests, indicating connections to terror-related operations.
According to officials, Basharat Ahmad Mir, Assistant Wireless Operator in the Jammu and Kashmir Police, son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir from Upper Brein District Srinagar, had come under surveillance due to credible intelligence suggesting he was consistently in communication with Pakistan Intelligence Operatives.
It was claimed that he was transmitting “critical” and “vital” information regarding security installations and deployments to adversaries.
As a trained police officer stationed in a sensitive area, Basharat had access to crucial national security information, yet he chose to act as a conduit for enemy operatives instead of fulfilling his responsibilities as a police official, posing a significant risk to India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In addition, Ishtiyak Ahmed Malik, Senior Assistant in the Public Works (R&B) Department, son of the late Ghulam Rasool Malik from Shitroo Larnoo, District Anantnag, was identified as an active participant in the proscribed organization (JeI-JK) and a terror associate of the designated terrorist group Hizbul-Mujahideen. He supposedly played a pivotal role in fortifying the organization within his influence.
Officials noted that he aided in establishing a network of sympathizers who later became Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and foot soldiers for the Hizbul Mujahideen, which has been implicated in numerous terrorist assaults against security forces, politicians, government officials, civilians, military facilities, and critical infrastructure.
It was further alleged that Ishtiyak covertly supported terrorist operations by providing food, shelter, and logistics, significantly contributing to the facilitation of terrorist activities, particularly in South Kashmir.
He allegedly supplied vital intelligence to terrorists regarding the movements of security forces, assisting them in avoiding capture and launching counterattacks, often leading to casualties among security personnel.
