Ahmedabad, Nov 1 (NationPress) Adani Defence & Aerospace, a prominent player in India’s defence and aerospace sector, has proudly announced its recent accolade—the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) Champion Award 2025. This recognition was awarded for remarkable achievements in design, manufacturing, and testing at the state-of-the-art Ammunition Complex located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

The award ceremony was graced by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, who acknowledged the facility’s exceptional technological advancements and superior manufacturing prowess.

This honor underscores Adani Defence & Aerospace’s dedication to establishing top-tier manufacturing capabilities that bolster India’s self-sufficient defence production framework, resonating with the government’s vision of “Made in India, Made for the World”.

“Receiving the SIDM Champion Award validates our commitment to fostering an indigenous, technology-focused defence manufacturing environment that enhances national self-reliance and fortifies our strategic preparedness,” stated Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence & Aerospace.

“The Kanpur Ammunition Complex is a beacon of how Industry 4.0 innovations can transform India’s defence manufacturing sector, positioning the nation as a global manufacturing hub,” he further elaborated.

Spanning over 500 acres, the Adani Ammunition Complex stands as India’s most sophisticated and cohesive ammunition manufacturing ecosystem, built upon Industry 4.0 principles, automation, and AI-driven precision systems that guarantee consistency, safety, and exceptional quality across various calibres of ammunition.

The complex is pivotal in India’s pursuit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, enhancing national security through cutting-edge infrastructure and a staunch commitment to excellence.

In August, the Kanpur facility revealed intentions to significantly boost bullet production, nearly doubling output in the upcoming months.

During a recent video conference with journalists, Rajvanshi highlighted Adani Group’s commitment to equipping the nation for contemporary challenges and threats.

He announced plans for an investment of Rs 7,000 crore over the next few years, with missile production also commencing at this facility, backed by an additional investment of $1 million.

Production of larger calibre bullets will soon begin, along with advanced warfare equipment such as bulletproof vests, drones, fighter jets, helicopters, and missiles, all aimed at bolstering the “Make in India” initiative.
