Lucknow, Aug 31 (NationPress) The Adani Defence and Aerospace facility located in Kanpur exemplifies ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat in action and is engaged in manufacturing a variety of military equipment, from bullets to fighter jets.
This Kanpur-based manufacturing unit is poised to dramatically increase bullet production, nearly doubling output in the coming months.
The announcement was made by Adani Defence and Aerospace Company CEO Ashish Rajvanshi during a video conference with journalists.
According to him, the nature of warfare has evolved; recent conflicts have seldom seen infantry crossing borders or fighter jets violating airspace.
“Today’s battles are fought using information systems, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Drones are becoming the future of warfare, likely surpassing the need for fighter jets. We are also developing robots capable of making autonomous decisions on the battlefield,” he stated.
He emphasized that the Adani Group is dedicated to equipping the nation for modern defense challenges, announcing an investment of Rs 7,000 crore over the next few years. Additionally, missiles will be manufactured at this Kanpur facility, with an investment of $1 million.
Rajvanshi mentioned that production of larger caliber bullets will commence soon, alongside advanced military equipment such as bulletproof jackets, drones, fighter planes, helicopters, and missiles, all aimed at strengthening the 'Make in India' initiative.
He further added that planning for a developed India by 2047 places significant emphasis on the defense sector.
“Previously, defense projects struggled to secure bank loans, but now the government is set to introduce credit lines for this crucial sector,” he remarked.
