New Delhi, Feb 3 (NationPress) Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Defence & Aerospace, stated on Tuesday that the defence sector is poised to become a major and strategically significant component of the Adani Group as the company amplifies its efforts in aerospace, manufacturing, and localisation.
In a press briefing held in the national capital, Jeet Adani emphasized that the group is not segmenting its operations into isolated areas like aerospace or MRO; rather, it views defence as an integrated sector.
Although he refrained from making specific future projections, he underscored that defence will play a crucial role in the group’s growth trajectory and is vital for both the company and the nation.
"Our approach is not divided strictly into aerospace and MRO. We perceive defence as a holistic sector. I prefer not to make forward-looking statements regarding its future significance," Jeet Adani shared with the press.
"What I can affirm is that it is set to become a substantial part of our operations and is strategically significant for us as well as for the nation," he added.
He further mentioned that recent developments reaffirm the group's strong commitment to contributing to India’s growth.
"Details concerning the locations of upcoming facilities and investment sizes will be disclosed in the near future as projects materialize," Jeet Adani noted.
He expressed enthusiasm about entering this new phase, emphasizing localisation. Both partners in the ventures are dedicated to enhancing manufacturing capabilities within India.
"Localisation is not just a government and armed forces requirement; it is a fundamental belief of the Adani Group. Our objective is to ensure maximum economic advantages remain within the country, generating jobs and bolstering Indian industries," he remarked.
His statements come amid significant advancements in India’s defence and aerospace landscape.
Adani Defence & Aerospace has initiated a strategic alliance with the Italian firm Leonardo to establish a helicopter manufacturing ecosystem in India.
As part of this collaboration, both companies will jointly develop, manufacture, and maintain helicopters to address the escalating demands of the Indian armed forces.
